Text entered in a search form, such as a name, telephone number, or address, goes to the third-party provider that supplies the results. We do not save a separate copy of that search on our servers. A message sent to us contains only what its sender chooses to share, and we use it to answer the request.

Our hosting services create ordinary logs that can contain an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Aggregated log data helps maintain the site and shows which topics visitors use. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic traffic analysis and advertising measurement where those features apply.

This limited information supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvements. We do not sell a visitor list or assemble individual user profiles.
Privacy on Linked Websites
Government portals, Santa Barbara County offices, California agencies, library collections, and outside search services follow their own privacy policies. Their rules control information submitted after leaving this site. The same is true for sponsored search results, which come from a third-party provider.
Parties That Process Data
Hosting and support vendors may process server logs for us. Analytics or advertising providers can receive the automatic data described above. Data may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it; otherwise, visitor information is not shared.
Data Security and Retention
An encrypted connection serves the site, and logs are retained only for the purposes stated above. Because there are no user accounts, this site holds no visitor password or account profile.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor appears to have submitted information so it can be deleted.
California Privacy Rights
California residents may have access, correction, deletion, sale or sharing opt-out, and sensitive-data rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. We can check our contact mailbox and available server logs for a request sent through the Contact page. Public records held by Santa Maria, Santa Barbara County, or California agencies are beyond our control and must be addressed to the record custodian. California's Delete Act also created the DROP process for deletion requests to registered data brokers; it does not erase official government records.
